Commentary
The restauration [νικ]άσασαν, suggested in SEG 11-830 is highly plausible and suggests that we are facing a victress in the diaulos (double-stadion) race. The name of the victress is too corrupt as Hondius also notes before offering the very tentative suggestion Πανθαλίδα (Panthalida), a name known from IG V.1.588.
Translation
The polis (has set up this statue of)
Pantaiolaios (?)
